FunctieomschrijvingWould you like to contribute to the logistics performance of A-brands like Zalando and Amazon throughout the world? Drawing systems that can handle a variety of products, ranging from food to shoes and clothes, together with enthusiastic team members that handle Equipment, Hardware and Controls? Ensuring the detailed design fits in the building, and is ready for installation? Then apply now as a Layout Engineer in our Warehousing Engineering team!
Work location: Veghel, The Netherlands What are you going to do?
After your onboarding, where you learned our Engineering way of working, your first project could be to design a warehouse for a customer with many challenges. You start with loading and preparing the drawings of the building into your 3D-model. Then, you implement the building blocks (pieces of equipment) into the model. This includes conveyors, sorters, racking, steel platforms, operator positions, maintenance access, etc. Once the design is agreed to by the customer, you will work on installation drawings that support our site teams during the installation phase of the project. As Frank Leijten, Layout Engineer says: "I like it most when the site team doesn’t need to call me with questions; this means that I created clear and concise drawings". You work in close cooperation with the Mechanical Engineer, deciding on equipment choices, layout strategy etc. The end product of your work is an outstanding 3D model that is accepted by the customer.
Being a Vanderlande Layout Engineer, you are passionate about creating such "impossible engineering" solutions.
As a Layout Engineer, you will become part of our Warehouse Engineering department in Veghel. This department manages all projects in Europe, Middle East and Africa and also supports our Customer Centers in other locations, e.g. USA, China, and Australia. Your responsibilities are to:
Ensure the 3D design is correct to the last details, and fits within the constraints of the building.
Create clear installation drawings and instructions.
Foresee and solve issues during the mechanical design phase of the project.
