Etpa is a power exchange active in the Netherlands and Germany. We are growing rapidly, with revenues having tripled over the past two years and the overall power markets expanding at double-digit rates. Our trading platform is developed in-house, allowing us to challenge incumbent competitors while expanding into other markets and EU geographies to capture a larger share of the market. We hold the NEMO license to operate a regulated power exchange and share order books with other European exchanges. Our teams operate from Amsterdam, Valletta (Malta), and Novi Sad (Serbia). We are backed by renowned impact investors who fully support our growth and expansion.

About the role

To support our continued growth and ensure strong financial and legal foundations, we are seeking an experienced and hands-on CFO. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for financial management, regulatory compliance, and legal affairs. You will lead a small, skilled team consisting of a Business Controller (currently hiring) and a Finance Controller (0.6 FTE) and work closely with the CEO as part of the management team. With significant updates to the design of EU power markets on the horizon, the CFO will play a key role in addressing their impact on the financial and physical settlement of trades between exchanges. Additionally, the CFO is expected to act as Etpa’s compliance officer.

  • Stay up to date with rules and regulations related to power markets, financial clearing and settlement, payment services, and market monitoring.
  • Act as compliance officer and primary contact for the regulator in all matters related to Etpa’s NEMO license and market monitoring obligations.
  • Coordinate with external counsel on all legal matters involving Etpa.
  • Lead by example and help foster an inspiring, inclusive, and optimistic work environment.
