At their office in Amsterdam, a position for a (Senior) Tax Manager has arisen as Sabanci Holding is looking for members of its Netherlands team, who will be taking over an instrumental role for the long-term success of the organization. He or she will be reporting to the Group Tax Manager (based in Istanbul). You will be responsible for the Tax, Statutory and Compliance matters of three important Sabanci entities with a total invested capital of €500mln and have an all-round role in the fields of international tax planning, corporate tax, VAT and other taxes, transfer pricing, tax reporting & tax compliance.

More specifically, the responsibilities and activities include:

  • Provide (international) corporate income tax and VAT advice for the Dutch entities and its international subsidiaries;
  • Advise and assist in acquisitions, divestments, mergers-demergers, restructurings, and development activities within the scope of tax strategies of Sabanci Group’s Dutch entities in accordance with local and international legislation;
  • Answer day-to-day questions from the business and Sabancı Group’s subsidiaries in the Netherlands about tax management and guide them in line with tax planning;
  • Coordinate the process of tax issues with advisory companies for Sabancı Group’s subsidiaries in other countries;
  • Support and assist in (international) tax audits and information requests from tax authorities by providing information requested by tax auditors and project manage the information flow and audit process;
  • Follow and report on changes in tax laws and regulations, examining local and international tax legislation, OECD reports, related publications, and creating circulars;
  • Prepare periodic declarations (corporate and provisional tax, VAT, VAT returns, and follow up the collections, withholding tax, stamp duty) in coordination with external tax consultants, making notifications on time, managing the tax compliance process;
  • Maintain, organize, and review the Transfer Pricing documentation (CbCR, Master file, Local files, and TP documentation), including improvement of the TP processes and controls;
  • Be responsible for tax aspects of internal dividend distribution and timely filing of the withholding tax returns of the Dutch entity.

    The ideal candidate has a Bachelor and/or Master's degree in Tax Law or Tax Economics and 6-10 years of experience within a reputable Tax consultancy firm or a multinational company. You have experience with (inter)national Corporate Income Tax, whereas experience with VAT and/or Accounting is considered a plus, as well as knowledge of Transfer Pricing, in-group invoicing processes, and OECD tax recommendations. You have experience in managing relationships with tax authorities and the ability to understand and improve cross-departmental processes in interdisciplinary teams. CPA or similar titles are a plus.

    Furthermore, you have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong self-motivation, the ability to promote new ideas, share them with the team, and develop them further together. Lastly, you possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch. Turkish language skills are considered a plus.
