Purpose of Role

To lead trading activities in designated markets by leveraging existing buyer and supplier relationships, supported by the company’s global sourcing network.
The Fish Trader will act as a commercial link between production and distribution, ensuring profitable and sustainable trade flow across regions.



Responsibilities

• Negotiate and execute sales and purchase contracts for frozen and fresh seafood.
• Manage pricing, spreads, and financial risk per trade to ensure profitability.
• Expand client base and market coverage using the company’s supply lines and capital resources.
• Identify growth opportunities in new product categories and geographies.
• Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to secure efficient shipment flow.
• Verify product documentation, traceability, and quality compliance.
• Track key trading metrics (volumes, margins, client activity) and report insights weekly.
• Ensure all transactions meet trade regulations, certifications, and sustainability standards.

 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Monthly trading volume (€ / tonnes)
• Gross margin per trade
• Number of active buyers/suppliers
• Client retention and growth rate




Requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on seafood trading experience, preferably in frozen or fresh products.
• Existing portfolio of active clients and suppliers.
• Fluent in English; additional European languages (Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian) are an advantage.
• Strong commercial drive, negotiation skills, and financial acumen.
• Familiarity with logistics and documentation (INCOTERMS, customs, certificates).
