Department: Global General Counsel & Compliance
Overview: Vanderlande is seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to provide pragmatic, solution-driven legal support to our supply chain organization in the Netherlands. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in international contracting, cross-border transactions, regulatory compliance, and risk management. You will ensure our international procurement processes are legally sound and aligned with strategic objectives.
You will serve as a proactive legal partner within the business, focusing on providing professional legal support across a broad range of matters. The role is based at Vanderlande’s headquarters in Veghel, the Netherlands, working closely with global Legal & Compliance team members in the US, Spain, and Germany.
Key Responsibilities: Advise on, draft, review, and negotiate various international contracts and agreements, including purchase and framework agreements. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Provide legal advice on procurement activities, strategies, and risk management for global projects and lifecycle services. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs. Conduct legal research and stay updated on procurement laws and regulations. Handle disputes and litigation related to procurement activities. Develop, implement, and maintain procurement policies and procedures. Act as a point of contact for contractual issues during procurement contract execution. Coordinate with finance and tax departments to manage risks effectively. Qualifications and Skills: - Master’s degree in law.
- 5-7 years of experience as in-house counsel or lawyer in an international environment, preferably in industry or procurement.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Proven experience with international contracting, engineering industry, and procurement.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, stress-resistant, and capable of managing multiple projects.
- Assertive, self-confident, team-oriented, and autonomous.
- Willing to travel occasionally.
