Research Leads - The Australian Research Centre for Cancer SurvivorshipUNSW Sydney invites applications for four senior academic positions (Level D/E) within the Australian Research Centre for Cancer Survivorship (ARCCS). The roles are based at Kensington, New South Wales, Australia.

Role- The Research Leads will report to Professor Koczwara and play a key role in shaping the Centre’s research strategy across four major themes:
- Person-Centred Care in Cancer Survivorship – advancing holistic, equitable and empowering models of care that place survivors at the heart of the health system.
- Behaviour and Health – exploring behavioural, psychological and social factors that help cancer survivors maintain and improve their wellbeing after diagnosis.
- Survivorship Epidemiology – investigating long-term health outcomes, quality of life, and disparities in survivorship through large-scale and data-driven research.
- Precision Survivorship – pioneering tailored approaches to survivorship care informed by molecular, genetic, behavioural and environmental factors.
These roles offer an opportunity to advance world-leading survivorship research, build national and international partnerships, secure competitive funding, and mentor the next generation of researchers—contributing to Australia’s leadership in cancer survivorship and quality of life after cancer.
Skills Required- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
- Extensive leadership experience in the relevant professional field.
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated excellent leadership of research projects and research teams.
- Substantial experience in high-quality supervision of honours and postgraduate research projects.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to work and influence across disciplines, faculties, institutions, industry and professional accreditation bodies.
- Evidence of being an inspirational role model for other academics seeking mentoring, guidance, and support.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead by example in supporting equal opportunity and equity, diversity and inclusion policy and programs.
- Proven leadership in developing effective relationships and engagement with industry and the community, with proven experience in attracting significant industry funding.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability and capacity to lead implementation and effectiveness of safety management systems.
