Do you want to play a leading role in defining the architecture of next-generation laser separation systems? We are looking for a System Architect to join our Product Development Center in Beuningen, The Netherlands.

In this position, you will establish the core technologies and system specifications that shape our laser dicing and grooving machines. You will translate market requirements into technical roadmaps, safeguard system integrity, and guide multidisciplinary teams throughout the entire lifecycle, from concept and design to production and maintenance.

As a recognized technical leader, you will work closely with colleagues in mechatronics, optics, laser development, and software, while also collaborating directly with suppliers and international partners. Your vision and helicopter view will ensure that system performance, manufacturability, throughput, and costs are optimized to meet both current and future industry demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate market requirements and technical roadmaps into system specifications, system design, and module-level requirements
  • Take ownership of consolidated system roadmaps and synchronize them with component and product roadmaps
  • Manage and optimize system-level performance with focus on quality, manufacturability, throughput, and cost
  • Create trajectories supporting stepwise fulfilment of system/module level performance trajectories
  • Demonstrate technical leadership and innovation through experiments and product development initiatives
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders by preparing high-quality reports and presentations

THIS IS YOU

  • Academic degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in high-tech machine development, preferably in the semiconductor industry
  • Solid understanding of the full lifecycle of system design, from concept to long-term maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of mechatronics system engineering, motion control, actuators, sensing technologies, and drive technology
  • Hands-on knowledge of software development (preferably MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools)
  • General knowledge of lasers, optics, and system/safety certification standards
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams and external partners
  • A lateral thinker with a helicopter view, capable of balancing conflicting business requirements and short-term project priorities
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch is an advantage
  • Occasional travel to customers. One or two times a year

WE OFFER

  • A full-time position (32 - 40 hours per week) at an international, high-tech company focused on cutting-edge engineering and manufacturing solutions
  • An attractive salary aligned with your knowledge, skills, and experience
  • Excellent employee benefits including a premium pension scheme, travel allowance, and more
  • Opportunities for personal and professional growth through training and development programs
