We are currently looking for a System Architect to join the team in Delft.

As a System Architect, you will lead the system design of advanced high-tech satellite communication products. Acting as the bridge between customers, suppliers, and internal teams, you will guide the development process from concept to delivery, ensuring innovative and cost-competitive solutions that meet the highest standards for performance and manufacturability.

  • Take ownership of the technical direction for projects from initial customer requirements through to prototype and product delivery.
  • Define and oversee the functional architecture and participate actively in design reviews.
  • Lead, inspire, and coach multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring technical progress and high-quality outcomes.
  • Work closely with project managers to align technology and quality with cost and schedule targets.
  • Make decisive, risk-based technical decisions to maintain momentum in development projects.
  • Engage directly with clients during early discussions and proposal phases to provide accurate input for quotations.
  • Prioritize activities to meet project schedules and budgets while ensuring the best solutions for customers.
  • Act as a technical leader and role model, inspiring colleagues and contributing entrepreneurial insights to shape projects.
Requirements
  • MSc or PhD degree in Systems Engineering, High-Tech Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Systems Architect or in a senior systems engineering role in the space or high-tech industry.
  • Preferably experienced in the optical communication market.
  • Solid understanding of mechatronic system design choices and their impact on cost for volume manufacturing.
  • Experience in the development of commercial products.
  • Entrepreneurial and creative mindset, able to identify and translate technical challenges or new developments into practical solutions.
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and proactive, with perseverance in tackling complex challenges.
