WILL YOU BE OUR TECHNICAL EXPERT FOR PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT IN TILBURG?

At LION, we are looking for an entrepreneurial and innovative Product Engineer who wants to take ownership of our product portfolio and play a key role in developing and maintaining training solutions used worldwide. LION develops and produces training solutions and personal protective equipment (PPE) for firefighters and other first responders, enabling them to train safely and realistically in fire emergency situations.

Who are you?


As a Product Engineer, you are the technical owner of our products throughout their lifecycle—from development to production and after-sales support. You are curious, structured, and a strong communicator, able to coordinate across different technical specialties while keeping an overview of multiple projects. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and service teams.


With your entrepreneurial mindset, you take initiative, work independently when needed, and are not afraid to bring innovative ideas to the table. You are customer-focused, both internally and externally, and enjoy being part of a team that builds solutions with real impact.

About LION


LION develops and produces fire training simulation systems that are used worldwide by fire brigades, defense organizations, emergency response teams, and industrial companies. In addition, we sell PPE with a specialization in firefighting gear. We are originally a family-owned company, and that culture still defines who we are today. The Department


You will be part of the Technical Support Department, responsible to design new products and projects, and is the link between sales, production and service. Together with your colleagues, you ensure that our products meet the highest technical standards and continue to evolve throughout their lifecycle.

What your work looks like:

  • You coordinate product development across different technical disciplines;

  • You maintain products and manage their evolution throughout the lifecycle;

  • You design product parts and create prototypes;

  • You support the industrialisation process;

  • You manage products in the ERP system;

  • You produce and maintain technical documentation;

  • You support the Service department with product-related expertise.
  • What you bring:

  • A completed higher technical education (HBO level);

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar position;

  • General engineering knowledge, including mechanical, electrical, and software design;

  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor or EPlan;

  • Experience with ERP systems is preferred;

  • Strong communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus);

  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and innovative mindset;

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;

  • Structured and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
