Senior Financial Controller

We’re looking for a motivated and versatile Senior Financial Controller to strengthen our Finance team in Houten. In this pivotal role, you’ll contribute to the full financial planning and control cycle, while playing a key role in shaping strategic decisions. You’ll be responsible for the scorecard, business plan, and forecasting processes, acting as a trusted advisor to our business units and a sparring partner to the Finance Manager.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Financial Controlling

  • Provide accounting knowledge and support to SKF B.V. Business Units, in close collaboration with our Financial Operations Centre.

  • Analyze financial transactions and prepare journal entries for month-end closing.

  • Coordinate financial processes between local teams and outsourcing partners.

  • Prepare external financial reports aligned with IFRS and SKF policies; present insights to Dutch management and Group Finance.

  • Support audits, VAT and corporate tax filings, and government grant applications (e.g., WBSO, RDA), ensuring full compliance with Dutch regulations.

  • Ensure adherence to local reporting requirements (CBS, DNB, Intrastat).

  • Coordinate finance improvement projects and ensure financial transparency across business units.

  • Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting (actuals, budgets, forecasts) to support decision-making.

    • Business Controlling

  • Guide strategic planning via business plans and rolling forecasts.

  • Collaborate with Business Unit Managers to analyze performance and challenge outcomes.

  • Own and manage the scorecard, business plan, and forecasting processes.

  • Contribute to business development initiatives and investment proposals.

  • Be an integral member of the Business Unit management team.

    • Your Profile:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Accounting.

  • 10+ years of experience in international Finance, Accounting, or Controlling.

  • Extensive understanding of IFRS, SAP/SAP 4HANA, and Power BI; knowledge of additional platforms is beneficial.

  • Solid understanding of Dutch compliance and legal frameworks.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively in multicultural environment.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the VAT and corporate tax regulations in the Netherlands, coupled with experience in reporting and compliance activities.

  • Fluent in English and Dutch, with proficiency in communication and a keen eye for detail.

    This position will be located in Houten, The Netherlands, on local contract.
