Medior kyc analyst – japanese banking experience

We are hiring a KYC Analyst for the European subsidiary of a Japanese bank with a strong presence in corporate, structured, and project finance.

Based in the Amsterdam office, you will support the customer due diligence (CDD) process—including client onboarding, screening, and periodic reviews—to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

This role is particularly suited for candidates with prior experience in Japanese or other Asia-based financial institutions operating in the EU, seeking to grow within a dynamic, cross-border compliance environment.

As a KYC Analyst, you will help ensure the integrity of the bank’s client base by supporting key compliance processes:

• Collect and assess customer due diligence (CDD) information from clients, counterparties, and reputable external sources
• Maintain accurate client records in internal screening systems and escalate potential issues as needed
• Prepare onboarding files by reviewing client documentation and evaluating risk profiles
• Conduct periodic and ad-hoc reviews of existing clients and counterparties in line with regulatory standards
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders—including front office, legal, and risk teams—as well as external auditors on compliance matters
• Support audit and regulatory reporting requirements
• Carry out additional CDD-related tasks as assigned by management

What We’re Looking For

• At least 3 years of experience in KYC, AML (preferably 5), and some of that experience coming from within a Japanese bank in the EU zone
• Solid understanding of customer due diligence and regulatory requirements in financial services
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with internal and external stakeholders
• Detail-oriented and organized, with a proactive approach
• Fluency in English (spoken and written), with fluency in Japanese a major plus

Salary is in the range of €4,100 to €5,100 monthly based on full-time of 37.5 hours per week, excluding holiday pay and a 13th month. Secondary benefits are in line with the current CLA Banks and I'm happy to tell you more about this excellent employer.
