We are seeking a Communication Systems & Technologies Engineer to work on our Customers Site (ESA-ESTEC) in the Netherlands. This is a fantastic opportunity to get into one of the most sought-after space agencies in the world.
Main Responsibilities
As Communication Systems & Technologies Engineeryou will concentrate your activities on the following:
Support the definition and evolution of security frameworks for Earth Observation programmesTake part in programme reviews, checking security design, implementation, qualification and validation against cyber security requirementsReview and contribute to system security architecture and requirementsAnalyse and assess Requests for Deviations or Waivers and recommend solutionsSupport security risk assessments, define security requirements (SSRS) and prepare treatment plansOrganise vulnerability assessments and penetration testing campaigns, assess findings, propose mitigations and confirm fixesPrepare and maintain technical security documents (requirements, management plans, etc.)Follow system integration, testing, verification and validation, ensuring compliance with security requirements and treatment plansExplore new applications and innovative concepts in cyber security, including advanced technologies and architecturesProvide expertise on security services and architectures, and support contract management in the security domain (e.g. Copernicus Space Component)Support the Project/System Security Officer (PSSO) in incident handling, deviation management and GDPR complianceStay up to date with relevant technological and scientific developments Successful Candidate
Do you think you are the person we are looking for? See below what experience or knowledge you should bring:
Master’s or PhD degree in Engineering (computer science, cyber security, telecom, aerospace or navigation preferred)Strong experience in security risk assessment, vulnerability management and penetration testingKnowledge of security policies, best practices, standards and procedures (NIST, ISO, FIPS, Common Criteria, MITRE, etc.)Experience defining risk treatment measures and designing security architectures (IDS, firewalls, anti-virus, authentication systems, SIEM, SOAR, etc.)Experience handling sensitive information related to EU or national interestsProven knowledge of Information Security Management SystemsIT systems and security expertise, supported by certifications (e.g. CISSP, GIAC)Candidates must be EU nationalsCandidates must be eligible for security clearance from an EU Member State and for access to technology subject to EU and US export controlsOn offer
