The Role

We are hiring for a Tier 1 FMCG manufacturing business who are setting up a brand-new business unit and are looking to hire a new procurement team.? We are looking for a Buyer – Packaging to join our Procurement team in Amsterdam. Reporting to the Head of Procurement – Packaging, this role will manage a spend of £10m–£30m, covering suppliers and stakeholders worldwide.

This position is central to ensuring competitive, reliable, and sustainable supply across our packaging categories. You will work closely with regional and local teams to execute sourcing strategies, manage budgets, and drive innovation with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver global sourcing strategies, ensuring successful implementation locally and regionally
• Lead tenders, RFQs, negotiations, and contract management to achieve the best cost and value
• Manage financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for your portfolio
• Monitor supplier performance against KPIs, addressing risks and ensuring reliable supply
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Procurement, R&D, and other functions to deliver business needs
• Identify and implement market innovations, sustainability projects, and supply chain optimisation
• Ensure compliance with operational models, contracts, and pricing management

The Person

We are looking for someone who brings:

• Minimum of 3 years’ procurement experience, ideally within packaging or consumer goods
• Strong category management and supplier relationship skills
• Excellent negotiation and contract management experience
