Brenntag is undergoing a group-wide transformation to deliver profitable organic growth and sustained group efficiencies. Data & Analytics is a key pillar which will allow us to ‘liberate’ our data and thus improve our decision-making at speed.
We are looking for talented, self-starters with a passion for analytics to join our growing team. Our Data Engineering team is the key foundational capability to enable end to end analytics. As part of the Data Engineering team, your role has accountability for building the trusted high quality data products. Those data products will be used in various modern analytics products such as product recommendation engine, demand forecasting engine, pricing engine or management dashboards.
You will collaborate with the Data Scientist, Data Visualization Designer/ Developers and ML Engineers, working within agile squads to ensure delivery of working and scalable analytics products.
YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop and maintain data ingestion, data processing and data producing pipelines according to the best practices Design and build reusable components, frameworks, and libraries at scale to support analytics products Build continuous integration and continuous deployment scripts to ensure high quality production Design and develop data quality observability and/or monitoring scripts, along with automated alerting Analyze and profile data for the purpose of developing analytics products Collaborate with a cross functional agile team of platform engineers, software engineers, data scientists, and product owners to build new products
YOUR PROFILE
A Masters degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology or relevsant experience with other degree8+ years data engineering experience Strong skills in one or more programming languages related to data engineering (such as Python and Scala) Hands on experience with cloud environments such as (AWS alternatively Google Cloud/Azure) Hands on experience with Big Data and NoSQL technologies like Spark, Impala, HBase, Cassandra, Storm, Flume, Pig, or Hive Experience with event-driven data designs (Kafka) Experience with monitoring and alerting (Grafana, Logstash, Cloudwatch) Hands on experience in continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tooling Experience with IaaC such as CDK, Terraform or similar concepts (Bicep, Ansible) Experience working on end-to-end solution designHas a strong problem solving and analytical mindset
