Your work
As a Designer / Concept Mechanical Engineer, you play a key role in the early stages of equipment development. You translate functional requirements into innovative mechanical concepts and draft technical designs that support IQIP’s mission to deliver efficient and sustainable installation solutions. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you are involved from idea generation to feasibility studies and preliminary designs. Your work lays the foundation for new equipment used in demanding offshore and onshore environments worldwide.
Your responsibilities
Create mechanical design concepts based on customer needs and project requirements
Perform feasibility studies, calculations, and risk assessments for new developments
Translate concepts into 3D models and technical drawings using CAD software (Solid Edge)
Collaborate with project, R&D, and manufacturing teams to align on design intent and functionality
Evaluate and improve existing designs for performance, cost, and sustainability
Ensure all concepts meet internal standards, safety requirements, and classification rules
Contribute to design reviews and documentation of engineering decisions
Your profile
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Strong conceptual and creative engineering skills
Experience in designing heavy machinery, mechanical systems, or offshore equipment is a plus
Proficient with 3D CAD tools, preferably Solid Edge
Analytical thinking and a structured approach to problem-solving
Good communication skills in Dutch and English
Team player with a hands-on and proactive attitude
