Meraki Talent is delighted to be supporting a top-tier international law firm with the appointment of an International Tax Senior Associate for their thriving Amsterdam office.

This is an opportunity for a technically strong tax lawyer to join a global firm with a world-class reputation in cross-border advisory, transactional tax, and international structuring.

Our client is a leading global law firm with offices across key financial centres and a client base that includes major multinationals, private equity funds, financial institutions, and innovative scale-ups. Their international tax practice is widely recognised for its strength in advising on complex, high-value transactions, particularly across M&A, finance, investment structuring, and global reorganisations.

The Amsterdam team operates at the heart of the firm's European tax strategy, with close integration across corporate, funds, and finance practices. Due to increased demand in cross-border work, the team is now seeking a high-calibre Senior Associate to join them and take on a visible, client-facing role.

Amsterdam offers global tax exposure, top clients, career growth, and expat benefits like the 30% ruling, all in a vibrant, international city.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise multinational corporations, financial sponsors, and investment funds on cross-border tax matters, including corporate structuring, acquisitions, financings, and reorganisations
  • Lead on the tax aspects of transactional work, including drafting and negotiating tax provisions in legal documentation (e.g., SPAs, shareholder agreements, loan docs)

  • Provide strategic support to clients in relation to Dutch and EU tax planning and compliance
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in other jurisdictions on multi-jurisdictional advisory and structuring mandates
  • Mentor junior associates and contribute to internal knowledge development
  • Support business development initiatives, including client presentations and publication of thought leadership

  • Minimum of 6 years' post-qualification experience within an international law firm or top-tier advisory environment
  • In-depth knowledge of EU tax law, OECD guidelines, and global tax policy trends
  • Fluent in English and Dutch
  • Confident communicator with the ability to advise clients and manage projects independently
  • Ambitious, collaborative, and motivated to thrive in a high-performing international team
