LION offers you a job where you can make a difference! LION develops and manufactures fire simulation systems for training purposes all over the world, which we call Training Solutions (TS). These are used by fire departments, defense forces, emergency services, and industrial companies. We also sell PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), specializing in firefighting clothing. We are looking for a Category Sales Manager TS to lead the Training Solutions team.
We started out as a family business, which still characterizes our corporate culture today. Our American parent company is also a family business that has been around for more than 127 years. We work in Tilburg with around 60 employees to ensure the success of LION.
About the position
The Category Sales Manager TS leads a team of International Sales Managers and Inside Sales Managers to establish product-market combination plans in line with business objectives. You are constantly looking for growth opportunities in the market and analyze regional market trends. This includes identifying, preparing, and working out tenders and offers. In addition, you prepare the annual budget and report on sales results.
The department
The current department consists of three International Account Managers, each responsible for a different target group, a Sales Engineer, and two Inside Sales Account Managers. We are also looking for a third Inside Sales Account Manager to complete this team. Are you the manager we are looking for to lead this team? The sales team works together to sell training solutions, primarily to the fire rescue services and business and industry market. These can range from small to large training solutions, from smoke generators to training units.
Wat do you bring to the position?
Extensive experience as a manager of both inside and outside sales positions. You have proven experience in leadership, but also in being a senior, international sales manager. Based on KPIs and data, you will consult with the team to determine the sales strategy needed to achieve growth. You are strategically strong and can easily translate strategy into concrete actions for the team.
For this sales position, we require someone with very good interpersonal and communication skills (English is a must, verbal and written). You are creative and know how to inspire your team members. Establishing long-term relationships with customers comes naturally to you. You are organizationally and commercially very strong and have a problem-solving attitude.
In addition, you are familiar with direct sales to end users and sales through dealers. Experience within the fire or public safety industry or experience selling a technical product is preferred.
