As a Senior Backend Developer at Vision Healthcare, you’ll join a focused team of four backend engineers. Your role goes far beyond writing code—you’ll shape the system architecture, anticipate scaling challenges, and help define the future of our backend platform.
We value technical expertise and fresh ideas, giving you both the freedom and the time to experiment with new frameworks, tools, and approaches that can make a real impact.
Your job in a nutshell:
Our backend team builds, maintains, and continuously improves Microservices backend—the core system that powers orders, invoices, customers, payments, subscriptions, and more. Coltan consists of microservices written in .NET 8, running on Azure, and deployed through Azure DevOps pipelines.
For service-to-service communication we use NServiceBus and RabbitMQ; data is stored in SQL Server and ElasticSearch. You’ll also work with Adyen for payments, Commerce Tools and various Azure components like Service Bus, Key Vault, etc.

What you’ll be working on:
Much of our backend is custom-built, but we’re actively moving functionality to SaaS solutions where it makes sense. For example, we’re migrating customer data from an event-sourced microservice into CommerceTools, a platform that manages customers, carts, products, discounts, and orders.
This migration involves moving millions of records, writing temporary support software, building new microservices, and solving plenty of technical challenges along the way. Projects like these give you the opportunity to make an impact while tackling real-world scaling and integration challenges.
Why it’s great to be a Backend Engineer at Vision Healthcare:
We keep our backend team small and efficient, so decisions are fast and improvements happen continuously. You’ll spend your time designing and building—not sitting in endless meetings.
Our minimal meeting culture and focus on shipping features means you’ll actually see your work in production and contribute directly to the evolution of our platform.
