Who we are
Vion is an international producer of meat, meat products and plant based alternatives with production locations in the Netherlands and Germany. Vion has sales support offices in thirteen countries worldwide. Our four Business Units Pork, Beef, Food Service and Retail, provide fresh pork, beef, meat products, plant based alternatives and by-products for retail, foodservice and the meat processing industry.
We supply customers in our home markets of the Netherlands and Germany, as well as in other countries all over the world. Our headquarters are located in Boxtel, the Netherlands.
The Role
The main task is the administration of a merchandise management system (Viper). This was created through customised development on the basis of Oracle development tools and databases and is tailored to the processes of the meat industry. This system is currently used by over 1000 users at over 12 locations in Germany. In addition to the business processes in the office area (purchasing, sales, livestock business), there is a further focus in the area of MES (Manufacturing Execution System). Here, the focus is on connecting technical devices (scales, scanners, classification devices, PLCs) as well as the simple and functional design of the user interface.
System Responsibility Details
Linux Administration:
Server administration local: phys. Server, VMs, OS, Storage, DB, Application
Server administration central (T-Systems Hosting): DB, application, support updates
Server administration all: printing, monitoring, cleanup, Samba fileshare
Oracle database administration (Oracle 11g, 19c) for approx. 50 databases
Oracle Application Server (16): installation, management (config, start/stop, monitoring)
Responsible for scripting within the active Viper logic for the entire job administration (interactive and automatic jobs), interfaces (e.g. D3 via cold / Web, MisFt, EPost, EDI), journalization, data cleansing, printing script
Administration / parameterization of Golden Gate configuration
Administration of OAS and Weblogic Server
Administration of ORDS/Rest Services, Golden Gate and Data Guard
Oracle installations and upgrades of Development Suite, Forms, Reports, Apex, Toad etc.
DBA and QM activities on the databases (e.g. cleaning up schemas, database refresh)
Signature of Java Libraries
Oracle Virtualization / OS / Storage
Shell Scripting (essential part of the active application)
Incident, change and problem management
Regular coordination and provision of test and development environments
Ensuring fail-safe operation of the productive Oracle databases
Performance monitoring and tuning as well as their queries (SQL tuning) in close cooperation with development teams
Lifecycle management, capacity management and monitoring of the Oracle infrastructure
Support of job management in the enterprise resource planning system
24 x 7 on-call duty in rotation of the other team members.

Involvement in ongoing projects where architectural specifications and essential programming services are to be contributed
Documentation
Coordination with the installation team
Installation itself (during the day / evening / Sunday) on ACC and Prod, rollback if necessary
Supervision of the (further) development of the programs around the deployment.
What do we expect from you?
We're looking for a senior candidate.
You are capable to plan your day /week according to the needs of your assignments. We are sure that you are able to manage your own time.
You completed a HBO or WO study ICT.
Good knowledge of the German and English languages is mandatory.
Willingness to occasionally travel to production sites (Netherlands, Belgium or Germany).
